Steve Botti wrote the massive 'Yosemite Flora' book and will be taking interested botanists on a backpack to some of his favored alpine terrain beyond Tuolumne Meadows. Three nights camped in upper Lyell Canyon, with some stout day hikes to seek the plants of treeline and above. You should be an experienced backpacker and be in good condition for this high altitude trek. Hiking: moderately challenging backpack with moderately challenging day hikes, up to 8 miles/day, at up to over 11,000' elevation.
